How to Find the Right Ibuprofen Dosage for You

First, before I give any dosage info for Ibuprofen, I would like to inform you that ibuprofen (brand name: Advil) or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) may cause gastro-intestinal related side effects. So, if you want to try ibuprofen, take it with plenty of food and a full glass of water. You should ask your doctor before taking ibuprofen if you are dealing with heart problems, stroke, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, or pregnancy or breast-feeding.

And in case your doctor prescribed ibuprofen for you for prolonged periods of time, ask your doctor about how to minimize the gastro-intestinal related problems. If you are dealing with (stomach, intestinal, kidney, or heart problems, talk to your doctor.)

Ibuprofen Dosage

Ibuprofen works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. It is used to reduce fever, treat pain or inflammation caused by a toothache, back pain, headache, or menstrual cramps.
Note: If you have severe pain that does not usually respond to normal doses ask your doctor if it safe to take 800mg of ibuprofen in a single dose. And if the ibuprofen dose effect wears off too soon, try acetaminophen (Tylenol) after three hours from taking the ibuprofen dose.
